Project Description:

The Edisto Island Open Land Trust is requesting $618,500 in rural Greenbelt funds to support the purchase of two adjacent fee-simple properties totaling 37.25 acres along Moffett Road in Adams Run. Once conserved, these parcels will be transferred to the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service (USFWS), expanding a contiguous network of protected lands. The project directly enhances the ecological integrity of 750 acres of existing conservation holdings, preserving natural resources and rural landscape character while enhancing habitat connectivity. The project will provide public recreational opportunities including hiking, nature viewing, photography, hunting, and other similar sustainable, low impact uses.
