Project Description:

Conservancy of the Sea Islands requests $584,150 in Rural Greenbelt funds towards the purchase of 3.33 acres located at 4011 Betsy Kerrison Parkway, Johns Island. This project will establish a strategically located conservation property to serve as a central hub for stewardship, restoration, and community engagement activities. The site will provide support for volunteer-based conservation efforts for habitat restoration initiatives, environmental stewardship projects, and field-based programming. The site will create opportunities for active land management and ecological enhancement focused on habitat restoration, native plant establishment, pollinator support, and other sustainable land management practices.
